..WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Heavy snow and blowing snow is possible Saturday night and
Sunday, especially north of I-94. A wintry mix will be possible
for a time Saturday night and Sunday, including a chance for sleet
and freezing rain, particularly along and south of the I-94
corridor. Rain may also mix in for a time mainly south of I-94.
The wintry mix is expected transition to moderate to heavy snow
across southern Wisconsin Sunday evening, persisting into Monday.
Strong winds and blowing snow will likely continue into Monday as
well.

* WHERE...Portions of east central, south central, and southeast
Wisconsin.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult to impossible due to
the heavy snow and wintry mix. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Monday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There remains a fair amount of uncertainty
with the track of this system as well as resultant precipitation
types and amounts.

"Earlier today, I asked you if you knew what this was; most people answered correctly. It is a National Weather Service WSR-88D weather .
The ball-shaped radome also protects the rotational mechanism and the sensitive electronics, and is heated in colder climates to prevent icing.
Weather radar saves lives by detecting and tracking severe weather  thunderstorms in real-time, allowing for early warnings. Without weather radar, we would all be in big trouble. 

It has been learned that a homegrown militia group is planning to attack and destroy NWS weather radar sites across the country, claiming the life-saving installations are “secret weapons” created by the government used to control the weather, according to officials.
Staff at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration were recently warned that “Veterans on Patrol” has put NEXRAD radar installations in its crosshairs.
“This group is advocating for anyone and everyone to join them in conducting pe*******on drills on NEXRAD sites to identify weaknesses which can be used to ultimately destroy the sites,” the email stated.
NOAA told members of its security to be ready for anything, and not to travel alone.
We will not let these people stop the weather enterprise from issuing timely warnings during high impact, life-threatening events. "

This is crazy! A resident of Posey County, Indiana found this torn check on his property from Lake City, AR where an EF-3 tornado struck last Wednesday night. That's a 215 mile trip! The tornado lofted the check which then was carried along by the parent thunderstorm all the way into Indiana. 📷Ryan Vaughn
