Mukilteo Food Bank

The Mukilteo Food Bank has been serving families in need in Mukilteo since 1979. We assist those in need with nutritional food and miscellaneous supplies.

We are very excited to show off our new shelving and tables inside the food bank space. We used grant money designated specifically for non-food purchases. With the new items we were able redesign our work space and create better efficiency for stocking, preparation, and distribution of food to our clients.

Our next distribution days are:

Monday, June 8th, 3p - 5p
Tuesday, June 9th, 9a - 10:30a

Just a reminder… our last food distribution for May was held last week due to Memorial Day weekend.

So…. Our next distribution days will be held June 8 and 9.

Revised schedule for food bank recipients!

Another banner day for the Mukilteo Food Bank. When some of our volunteers were completing their shift at this week’s food distribution, we learned that the Mail Carriers Food Drive from last Saturday was still collecting bags of donated groceries.

So a couple of board directors and a driver went back over and collected another 1,700+ lbs of food, for a combined total of 6,437 lbs of food generously donated from area wide families. Two other volunteers were on hand at the food bank to help weigh, sort and shelve the additional items.

How awesome is that.

A big shout out to the for their commitment to Stamp Out Hunger.

Every year our local letter carriers put yellow bags in every mailbox and invite the community to donate food to the local food banks. Saturday was their day to pick up those food bags along with their regular mail and deliver the bags back to a site where food banks could come and collect them.

Mukilteo Food Bank volunteers were on hand to make numerous trips with our van to pick up bags of donations. Some staged the food at the distribution site. Others were back at the food bank unpacking, weighing, sorting and shelving the items. We received 4,700 pounds of food.

Mukilteo community, we can’t thank you enough for your generous and giving spirit.

We love our volunteers! There are many ways to help the food bank… from stocking shelves, working on distribution day, ordering supplies, parking attendant duties, drivers… LOTS of ways!

SAVE THE DATE: On May 20th, 7pm, we are hosting our next volunteer information meeting. If you have an interest in serving your community, stop on by and find ways to volunteer with the food bank!
