Students Celebrating Pride Month 🌈🌈
Across Mukilteo School District, students are finding meaningful ways to build connection, celebrate one another, and create welcoming school communities for everyone. June’s Pride Month activities are one example of how schools support student belonging through positive, student-centered experiences.
At one school, students are preparing a Crew Time lesson focused on inclusion, kindness, and supporting one another. Student groups are also planning fun activities throughout the week, including a PRIDE Club celebration with cake, snacks, and a spirited march around campus. A little birdie told us that they may even hide tiny rainbow ducks around their school for students and staff to discover.
Student leaders have been creating opportunities for connection and belonging all year long. From the Rainbow Connection group’s participation in this spring’s Celebrate Diversity Night to helping staff create bulletin boards and displays recognizing heritage and awareness months, students and staff continue to celebrate the many identities, cultures, and experiences that make each school community unique.
