STATUS : FULL

BUUUTTTTT…even when we are full, we do our absolute best to help when there are situations that are not the fault of the owners or animals.

These boys fit that category!

So please help us welcome Emmitt and Troy to the pack at Rocky Road Refuge!

Because of the situation, we were able to learn more about the boys than we usually do. So here’s what we know so far :

The boys are a little over 7 years old, crate trained, house trained, good with kids, good with people. They have visited dog parks, so good with dogs…and we will test that further at the refuge with other dogs. Emmitt and Troy are brothers and were rescued by the family as pups/young dogs. They are a hound mix, so they need to be in a country setting…otherwise, you WILL receive complaints from your neighbors! 😜

Emmitt has given us a sampling of his singing, and we expect Troy will soon, as well!

I know photos can be deceiving, so I want to make sure everyone knows these are big boys, around 75 pounds. They are sweet but can definitely pull someone over while on the leash. So they are more suitable for someone active or someone with property that would not necessarily need to take them on daily walks.

We will continue to learn more about Emmitt and Troy as they settle into refuge life!

But for now, we just hope that the boys and their families can rest easy knowing they will be loved and cared for!

I know fireworks are not popular with a lot of people. We don’t mind them so much because we also love America and love seeing people celebrating our great country.

We don’t ever go to see fireworks because we want to be sure we are here if a dog gets upset by them. This is the first year we have actually been able to see fireworks from our house, which is kinda cool.

But what is really great is how calm all the dogs are…and we didn’t even medicate anyone, the TV isn’t even on, no white noise going on. I am so proud of all of them!

We have a couple of the pyrenees and Anatolians that decided to come inside (which is rare!), but they are also just laying peacefully!

What a good pack!

The Good Samaritans that found her in the country did not recognize the pup.

We are hoping the pup was not dumped.

Please share and help us fine this dog’s owners.

It is a full blown episode of “I Love Lucy” over here, and somehow I am the star of the show with all my blunders!

I literally even stepped on a rake and got bonked in the head! 🤪

I am glad bathtime is over for now!!!
