Queen of Hearts is back! Our first drawing will be September 10th. We’ll be serving dinners again along with all those amazing desserts! We’ll put the menu out the week of the drawing.

Rules for this year:
Tickets $2

Draw three tickets per evening.
1st ticket wins $25
2nd ticket wins $50
3rd ticket wins $75 plus chance at the board.

Board winner.
Queen of Hearts wins Half Pot
Jokers, two of them, wins $100
Ace, four of them, wins $25

Be on the lookout for our auction coming soon!!

Come see our new kitchen made possible by last year’s event and joins us! Proceeds will go to the maintenance and improvements of the Legion Building.

Today our Moweaqua American Legion Post 370 was honored to perform the last military rites for a local 102 year-old World War 2 veteran. Many of our members knew Mr. Carr very well.
Mr. Carr was one of many Marines served on Guam and remained there during the war. Guam was a high strategic island for bombing raids on Japan.

Semper Fi and rest easy Mr. Carr. Once a Marine always a Marine.

We will be conducting a military rites ceremony for Edward Oglesby at Seitz Funeral Homes around 11:30am this morning.

On behalf of the Moweaqua American Legion Post 370, thank you to the Moweaqua Pow Wow for having us be the honor guard for the parade.

We have been doing this for decades and it’s something we look forward to each year.

As we marched, carrying the flags, during the parade I could not help but notice the patriotism our community shows to our country and flag. Every person along the route stood and showed respect to the flag as we marched along. We saw our fellow veterans proudly wearing their service hats and some even saluted. We noticed the children standing with their hands over their hearts and parents teaching their youth how to do it. This is one of many reasons why we love our community and village.

Thank you Village of Moweaqua and we’ll be happy to do again next year!

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful Breakfast fundraiser! I’m happy to say our community came together and raised over $3500! Also, congratulations to Brenda Alward for winning the 50/50 drawing!

Big shout out Muddy Water Cafe and Forston’s Barber Shop! We needed some help and you definitely came up big for us. Thank you!

Thank you to our American Legion members for the work you did this morning. Everyone did an amazing job!
