Customers at the Puget Sound LYS asked! and have listened! Archie and Tula in other colors (like black) are possible. Celebrate the wonder of Fall or just revel in creativity with color. Starting today, Tuesday August 11th, kits for Archie and Tula are ready with everything you need to get knitting. There are different yarn weights and needle size gauges to choose from in blank mini skeins. I’ve been told that a careful knitter, using #1's on the Merino, could possibly “eek!” out two pairs of Archie and Tula. You will need to complete your eight-legged fiber friends before dip dying. One you have purchased kits, follow , sign up for the shop newsletter, , or &Tula for updates.

Calling all Knitters and Crocheters. Due to such a huge demand for these wonderful Knitted (and Crochet) Knockers for women who have had a mastectomy we find we are running short of pairs of light neutral* colored sizes D and DDs. If you can help you can find the patterns, video tutorials and list of approved yarns at knittedknockers.org. Register as a knitter/crocheter to find out what to do with the knockers you make. Thank you so much!!! *light neutral is defined as beige, off white and white for this purpose. We do provide knockers in Dark Neutral and other colors but have an adequate supply right now :-). Thank You.

From Shelley Brander's Knit Stars, Moving the Needle newsletter, "Why do so many knitters hide their best, most dazzling work in the closet and only take those gorgeous garments out around other knitters? To me this is a feminist issue. Most knitters are women. For so long we have been culturally conditioned to step back, to stand in the wings, to be modest ... to shade our light so as not to outshine men. Let's address the REASON those works of art languish in closets."

This goes for crochet, beading, etc. All the handmade things that we don't wear or use everyday. Why do we do this? Quoting the subject line of the newsletter "wear the dang knits." 🧶

From our About information

"Stitch N Bitch," a name that has been used to refer to social knitting groups since at least World War II, was popularized in the early 2000s by a series of books of the same name by Debbie Stoller. It has since grown into a community with over 1,000 registered groups in nearly 300 cities worldwide.

For knitters and crocheters (as well as other crafty types) the name is welcoming; it is synonymous with support, a way to build a social circle, and create a network of friends.

Our own little chapter of Stitch n Bitch Lynnwood has been around for over 10 years and - in the intended spirit of the SnB movement - is open to anyone with an interest in knitting, crochet, and general craftiness in the North Seattle area.
