The District would like to wish a very Happy Belated Birthday to our student intern, Marcus Brown. Marcus is a senior at Mountainair High School, where he is on the Ag Mechanics team in FFA, he played football and is currently the boys basketball team manager. In addition to all his extracurricular activities and school studies he finds time to work with us here at the District.

Today we celebrate the birthday of our student intern Lily Salas! Lily is a Senior at Mountainair High School and works at the District office after school and on breaks. She is involved in FFA and was the High Point Individual in Forestry at the State Judging Finals last April. Happy Birthday Lily, we are proud of you!

The Greater Rio Grande Watershed Alliance held a meeting this past Tuesday at the District office. At which they honored Jose Varela Lopez with a plaque of Recognition for Service, Mr Lopez was Chairman of The Greater Rio Grande Watershed Alliance 2009-2026. We wish him the best in his retirement!

The District awarded Aurelleia Chavez an achievement award for her work over the past four summers at the Bartolo Canyon Monitoring Project. Aurelleia incorporated her work into an FFA SAE project and was ranked GOLD at the State FFA level and went on to receive a SILVER ranking at the National level!! We are very proud of Aurelleia and her work at the District over the past four years!
