Thank you for the strength you show, the support you give, and the countless ways you make a difference—both at home and in our community. We especially want to recognize the mothers of our veterans, active-duty service members, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO ALL OF OUR VETERANS!! 🇺🇸

To address a few questions I’ve seen regarding the banners. This was the first year we did the banner project. The banners were purchased by the families (and they will get them as a keepsake once the banner is “retired”) and we used Military Tribute Banners which is a veteran owned and operated organization. The families sponsored the banners for their loved ones and we raised money within the community to pay for the brackets to hang them. We donated the brackets to the City of Mountain View, Missouri for use year round. These banners will be displayed from now through Veterans Day, and then will be put back up next May - along with more.
The project was advertised to the local media, Facebook, word of mouth, placed flyers at local businesses, and a sample banner on hung display at Simmons bank for almost two months.
We already have about 15 on the waiting list for next year. To get on the waiting list please send an email to VFW Auxiliary 3009 at [email protected] or contact Tanya Richards Miller

Take a look at these beautiful banners… just a glimpse of what will soon be lining our streets as we proudly honor those who have served 🇺🇸

Beginning Monday, April 20th, the Military Tribute Banners will start going up—and we couldn’t be prouder of what this program represents.

👏 40 banners in our very first year… that says everything about the heart of this community.

Each banner tells a story. A life of service. A family’s pride. A legacy that deserves to be remembered and honored every single day ❤️

🙏 Thank you to our incredible sponsors who made this possible through their generous support of the bracket purchases. Because of you, this vision became a reality!

The VFW Auxiliary is pleased to present the Continuing Education Scholarship to assist members and their immediate family members who wish to further their education by pursing a college degree or career direction at a vocational/technical school.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
• Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
• Applicant must be an Auxiliary member (for at least 1 year) OR the child or spouse of an Auxiliary member.

What is the Scholarship Amount?
• Four $1,250 scholarships will be awarded each year, one in each of the four VFW Auxiliary Conferences.

What are the Scholarship Submission Requirements?
Each applicant must:
• Answer all questions on the Continuing Education Scholarship application
• Write a brief essay (no more than 300 words) describing their commitment to their goals and how this scholarship will help them attain these goals.

What is the Application Deadline?
• February 15, 2026
