OUR VISION
All students in our community are able to maximize their potential, shaping a brighter future through access to a tutor or mentor who supports their academic, social, and emotional growth. Because of our success in supporting youth in our local community, MTC serves as a role model and catalyst for other commun
ities and organizations to create a system of caring and supportive adults for every young person in the community. OUR VALUES
- We value the known and hidden potential of youth. Every child deserves an opportunity to achieve the brightest possible future, and a good education and support system is essential.
- In all we do, we demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a warm heart. We are committed to behaving with honesty and integrity towards students we engage, volunteers who help make our vision a reality, donors who provide resources to help us provide the best possible services, and the schools where we operate (See our Code of Ethics).
- Our success is based on strong personal relationships. We nurture collaborative, strength-based, ongoing relationships with each other, youth, our partners, and our community.
- We believe in collaboration, cooperation, and teamwork. We work as partners, colleagues, and team members of youth-oriented services to help young people achieve their best possible outcomes.
- We work to increase our sensitivity to the cultures that surround us, including our students, our board, and our employees. (See our Cultural Competency policy). YOUTH PROTECTION
We are strictly committed to providing a safe working environment for our volunteers and the students they work with. Our staff and volunteers complete a set of youth protection requirements developed and administered in conjunction with the MVLA School District and the Los Altos School District.
