In-Person Only Event: Real Estate and Mortgage Markets with Prof. Nancy Wallace
Ticket Sales: https://luma.com/ipdxqveq
Date and Time: 6-8pm, PST, Aug. 6, 2026
Location: Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, 2400 Hanover St, Palo Alto, CA

This is one of our most popular annual event! Come and join us to benefit from Prof. Wallace’s insights and latest research on real estate and mortgage markets. What is the outlook for mortgage rates, residential and commercial real estate prices? Does it make sense to buy now and refinance later, or wait and take advantage of the low rate you may already have? What are the risks and opportunities in commercial real estate for investors and for the economy? What is the research and outlook for new home buyers with affordability near an all-time low?

Prof. Wallace is widely recognized as an expert in both the residential and commercial real estate, mortgage markets, and has published extensively on these topics. She has advised the Fed and Congress, and she has identified developments leading to major financial events, including being one of the first to identify the risks leading to the financial crisis (2007-2009). She is a Berkeley Haas Professor of Finance, Chair of the Lisle and Roslyn Payne in Real Estate and Capital Markets, the Chair of the Real Estate Group, Co-Chair of the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics, and she directs the Real Estate and Financial Markets Laboratory. Follow the link to learn more about Prof. Wallace and her works: https://haas.berkeley.edu/faculty/nancy-e-wallace/

Space is limited, reserve your seat before it is sold out. https://luma.com/ipdxqveq Snacks and soft drinks will be served.

Are you curious about the career paths that exist beyond traditional corporate or startup roles? BerkeleyHaas Alumni Network, Silicon Valley Chapter and Women in Leadership Alumnae invite you for an evening focused on the practical journey into the investor ecosystem. We’re skipping the "how to invest" basics and diving straight into the career roadmap: how to get your foot in the door, translate your "operator" skills into "investor" language, and what the day-to-day reality of the space actually looks like.

The event provides invaluable opportunities to ask the alum speakers your specific questions about the transition, as well as networking with fellow alumni who are also exploring or working within the Silicon Valley ecosystem.

Light dinner and refreshments will be served. Save your seat now: https://luma.com/7p0irr74
