LMV Public Safety Day was February 13, 2026. The day began at Mountain View Police Department where the class learned about current issues facing MVPD, new analytic tools used by the PD and data available to the public, cybercrime and AI usage, drone capabilities, SWAT, K9 and the Emergency Communications Center.
During the afternoon, participants learned about the City of Mountain View - Fire Department at Fire Station 4 where they also got to see a firefighting demonstration and learned about the proper usage of home fire extinguishers.
A special thanks to MVPD Chief Mike Canfield, Analyst Carly Kakis, Sgt. Christine Powell, Detectives Matt Rogers and Daniel Miller, Officers Guiuliana Leopold, Pablo Donato, Jake Shull and Kyle Einfalt, and Public Safety Dispatchers Tyler Gunn and James Hayes.
