March 13 was also the LMV Alumni spring mixer event hosted at Ava's Downtown Market Ava's Downtown Market & Deli and a nacho bar was provided by Simply Sabor.

Class of '26 Education Day was March 13!

During Education Day, the class heard from local education leaders from an elementary school, high school and a community college about challenges and successes facing the local schools.

Class members were then welcomed for site visits to Edith Landels Elementary , Graham Middle School , Mountain View High School, Mountain View CA and Foothill College.

Students and teachers from AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), a program that supports students who are likely the first in their families to go to college, visited and shared their stories.

The afternoon included presentations from local education foundations that partner with schools to provide critical support for our school districts, a talk on Mental Health & Wellness concerns and services in the MVLA high schools, and an introduction to Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom and what the classroom of the future might look like.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated and especially those who worked hard behind the scenes to make this day a huge success!!!

LMV Public Safety Day was February 13, 2026. The day began at Mountain View Police Department where the class learned about current issues facing MVPD, new analytic tools used by the PD and data available to the public, cybercrime and AI usage, drone capabilities, SWAT, K9 and the Emergency Communications Center.

During the afternoon, participants learned about the City of Mountain View - Fire Department at Fire Station 4 where they also got to see a firefighting demonstration and learned about the proper usage of home fire extinguishers.

A special thanks to MVPD Chief Mike Canfield, Analyst Carly Kakis, Sgt. Christine Powell, Detectives Matt Rogers and Daniel Miller, Officers Guiuliana Leopold, Pablo Donato, Jake Shull and Kyle Einfalt, and Public Safety Dispatchers Tyler Gunn and James Hayes.

We would like to also thank and acknowledge MVFD Station 4 and Battalion Chiefs Ryan Eddy and Melton Wong!

A big thank you to the 129th Rescue Wing and Nasa Ames Research Center for hosting the Class of '26 Federal Day, and special thanks to the day's speakers: CMSgt Ford, Lt Col Nance, Col John Nestor (Class of 26’), Dave Korsmeyer, William Chan, Nin McCurdy and Joe Sacco.

This day gave participants a small glimpse into what our Military partners do at Moffett Field, and also educated about some of the research programs being done by NASA.

Class Participants were able to tour the Air Force's new combat search and rescue helicopter, the HH-60W. They also visited the Moffett Field Museum and learned about about NASA's Hyperwall Visualization System.

In December, the Class of '26 completed Health and Human Services Day hosted by El Camino Hospital.

On this day, students learned about future healthcare technologies and heard from a panel of El Camino leaders about the challenges in improving patient care and managing costs in the large, complex ecosystem of a hospital.

The Class then did visits to the MV Day Worker Center of Mountain View, Hope's Corner, Community Services Agency (CSA) and the El Camino YMCA.

The afternoon sessions heard from Kimberly Thomas, Deputy City Manager (LMV Class of '25) spoke about financial and housing challenges for residents of Silicon Valley, and what the City of Mountain View Human Services Division - together with dozens of non-profit partners - is doing to address these challenges.

The end of the day was a discussion with Tom Myer's and Kristi Blewis about what CSA does and how their programs provide a safety net for residents of Mountain View, Los Altos, and Los Altos Hills.

Refreshed Sustainability Day a Success!

Last month, LMV Class of 2026 completed their Sustainability Day. Some of the highlights were tree planting with Canopy at the downtown Mountain View Caltrain station, hearing from the City's Sustainability and Resilience Officer, and a Bayshore Trail walk to hear about many of the city and regional efforts to mitigate the impacts of sea level with higher levees and marshland restoration.
