🔷 Last week, we held an Affordable Healthcare for NEPA Town Hall at the Action Together HQ in Wilkes Barre! Alongside SEIU Healthcare PA and more coalition partners, we're standing together to fight for affordable care, starting with an immediate freeze on healthcare costs. Thank you to everyone who shared your stories and your shocking healthcare bills.

🧑‍⚕️ Working people in NEPA are being hit hard by rising costs for care, along with gas, groceries, housing and everything else. While NEPA workers have been struggling to afford basic care, insurance and healthcare execs have been raking in huge profits and getting filthy rich. That’s why this town hall was so powerful - we heard from our neighbors about their struggles to afford care AND started taking action to fight back together.

🔴 Our veterans step forward to serve our nation and we have a duty to ensure that they have access to healthcare. However, the Trump Administration has supported a record number of cuts to Veterans Affairs. Supporting our veterans includes ensuring that they have access to the healthcare that they need — and they deserve better!

⚪ As Military Appreciation Month comes to a close, call on Representatives' Bresnahan, Mackenzie, Meuser, and Thompson to stand up and demand better care for our country's veterans. They’ve all made promises to support our veterans and have failed to deliver!

This is what real leadership looks like!

Northampton County Council UNANIMOUSLY passed an Election Worker Protection Ordinance at their meeting last night. This proactive step meets the moment that we’re in — a moment when our election workers are stepping up against unprecedented threats and carrying out our elections.

With all eyes on PA’s competitive congressional districts, Northampton County will be one of the most watched counties in the 2026 midterm elections. Props to the members of the Northampton County Council for recognizing this need and filling in the large gaps in Pennsylvania law to protect county elections staff, board of elections and election commission members, and temporary staff. Shout out to council member (and former Action Together NEPA endorsed candidate!) Jason Boulette for introducing this important legislation and to all the council members for voting in favor!

Northampton County is leading by example in standing up for our neighbors who run local elections. We certainly hope that more counties do the same.

The ordinance designates certain actions against election workers as summary offenses punishable by a fine of up to $1,000.
