University of Maryland Extension is once again running its nationally recognized Paying for College and Trade School and FAFSA: Facts and Myths workshops for students and their parents/guardians. This year, we have an additional program, What’s New with Student Loans for adults who are either presently repaying student loans or who are considering borrowing for graduate school or for their own children. All workshops are live and interactive over Zoom. Additionally, UME educators have some availability for in-person programs at your school. Contact me about scheduling.

Paying for College and Trade School: The program is student focused and ideally, students and parents attend together. The topics are particularly expedient for seniors, but they are also very helpful for younger students as they start to investigate education choices and their costs.

· How to make financially wise education decisions

· Available educational choices and their costs

· Sources of Funds

· Scholarship Search Strategies

· Student Loan Basics

· Real Life: Focus on Financial Future

➡Through the Maryland Market Money Bridge Benefit, SNAP recipients who experience declined or unavailable transactions at participating farmers markets will receive $20 in Maryland Market Money tokens per market day to purchase fresh, SNAP-eligible food directly from local farmers and producers.
