Today is the scheduled Public hearing at Board of Supervisors in Stockton for the application seeking rezoning of school and park land in College Park village.

As you are aware, many residents have opposed this rezoning application at the Planning commission meeting around March 24, 2024. The Commission has ignored residents concerns showing that the student generation numbers are not in tune with the estimated housing planned in the village. LUSD and CSD have supported this rezoning application which is against the community interest.

We still have a chance to give our comments in-person or submit in writing using the link below. Please make sure to submit any written comments by 1.30pm today.

Hello Residents, This page was initially started to educate, create awareness and gather support to oppose rezoning of civic land within MH to residential housing.

Thanks to your continued support, we have gathered like minded community members and able to advocate & protect the community interest. We have been effective in bringing several policy changes in our soon-to-be City as a result of our persistent efforts.

Our work involves advocating for the betterment of the community and keeping community interest as paramount in any decision making. With that in mind, we are renaming our group & our community page to appropriately reflect the mission, vision and goal that all residents believe in. While we are ready to become City and take control of our destiny, SJ County is rushing to approve rezoning of our school/park land in Mountain house before the July 1st mark!!

Residents have received this Public hearing notice with just one week to go.

We need to STOP the County from controlling & make decisions for us anymore. Our voices matter now more than ever. How can we stop this public hearing and move the decision making power to our City?!!! We need Mountain House to SPEAKUP!

This proposal if approved will add 300+ residential units in the neighborhood. We don't need this rezoning. What we badly need is refocus on our important priorities and build the necessary public infrastructure that our town badly needs.

Here is the latest rezoning planned in MH. This will convert the 3 parcels originally allocated for Commercial spaces into Medium & Low density housing.

Why can't we convert this into Commercial retail spaces and bring in the much needed restaurants, fast food, downtown, mall & other entertainment spaces that our community severely lacks?

Why is there an effort to convert this into residential? Such unplanned housing will crumble our schools, traffic & overall public infrastructure.

Hello MH residents, Welcome to our community page where we bring up any rezoning issues in Mountain House.

Lately we are seeing a trend of rezoning parcels originally allocated for public amenities like park, school and commercial spaces into housing. We are not against any planned & new housing developments. What we are concerned is about rezoning the land allocated for public infrastructure into housing.

This is callous to say the least, especially when our town lacks the necessary parks, schools and commercial infrastructure. We have a community of passionate residents who are actively watching the rezoning applications going for County approval and trying to create awareness in the community. Please join and support our efforts. Together we can make Mountain House of our dreams a reality.
