⭐️⭐️With gratitude and appreciation, the Hill ‘N Hollow Community Quilts Committee recently delivered another patriotic quilt to a deserving veteran at Southern Meadows Assisted Living in Mountain Home. These quilts are a small token of thanks for the sacrifices made in service to our nation, and it is always a meaningful experience to share them with our local heroes. 🇺🇸🧵🇺🇸

🌟 MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: SANDY BUTLER 🌟
Hill ‘N Hollow Quilt Guild Education Chair

This week we're shining the spotlight on SANDY BUTLER, our dedicated Education Chair and a valued member of Hill ‘N Hollow Quilt Guild since 2012.

* A native Arkansan, Sandy was born and raised in Fulton County. Her quilting journey began with a simple set of nine-patch blocks. She says that she probably wasn't too concerned about matching seams back then! After those first quilting attempts, she spent many years sewing garments before returning to quilting later in life.
* When Sandy took early retirement, she attended a meeting of the Salem Quilt Guild with friends from church. She enjoyed it so much that she remains an active member there today while also sharing her talents with Hill ‘N Hollow.
* Sandy sews on a Janome 9480, along with a couple of other Janome machines. When asked about her favorite sewing notion, her answer was quick and honest—the seam ripper!
* One of Sandy's favorite ways to give back is by creating baby quilts for our Community Quilts Committee. She enjoys using these projects to try new quilt patterns and quilting designs. As Sandy puts it, "My attention span is so short, I find I need to do projects that don't take a lot of time!"
* Sandy especially enjoys the Members Teaching Members classes offered through our guild. She says, "I always learn something new, but most of all I get to know my fellow members better."
* When she's not quilting, Sandy is spending time with her very spoiled Tom cat, who clearly has her wrapped around his paw!

Thank you, Sandy, for your enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to quilting education and fellowship. We are grateful to have you as part of the Hill ‘N Hollow Quilt Guild family! ❤️🧵

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: MONA BOLEN, HnH Quilt Guild Secretary
• In 2012 Mona was invited to a quilters guild when she lived in California by a friend of hers. Mona knew how to sew but she had never made a quilt before and her friend talked her into taking a quilting class and from that moment one she was hooked.
• In 2020 Mona and her husband Randy (HnH’s Past President) moved to the Twin Lakes area and they both joined the Hill N Hollow Quilt guild soon after moving.
• Mona stated that her favorite sewing notion is her seam ripper because she says she used it a lot.
• Traditional quilts are the style that Mona likes to sew on her Brother Dreamweaver sewing and embroidery machine.
• Mona stated, “I love to be with my fellow quilters. I have learned so much. It’s a great inspiration.”
