This past week, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Mountain Home Police Department hosted a training on collaborative strategies for investigating and prosecuting human trafficking cases.
Into the Light Executive Director Gretchen Smeltzer was honored to train alongside Benton County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Josh Robinson and Benton County Sheriff’s Office Captain Brenan Despain. Josh and Brenan bring extensive experience investigating and prosecuting trafficking cases in Arkansas.
Into the Light has partnered on many of these cases, providing long-term advocacy to survivors. Effective investigations and prosecutions take collaboration across disciplines, with support for victims throughout the process and beyond.
We are grateful to both host agencies for recognizing the importance of this training in protecting Arkansas children and keeping our communities safe. Thank you for making it available to law enforcement across Arkansas and neighboring states!

Into the Light Executive Director Gretchen Smeltzer and Assistant Development Director Amy Lanning joined Salem Media Group's 99.5 The Word for the Pastor Appreciation Luncheon in Little Rock yesterday. We enjoyed sharing Into the Light's work and were blessed by keynote speaker Clay Dyer.

Clay uses his platform to praise the Lord and encourage others to overcome challenges and make a difference in our world.

We were honored to be part of this special event and celebrate the pastors who faithfully serve our communities!!

Last Wednesday, Into the Light Executive Director Gretchen Smeltzer joined Training Sergeant Anthony Foster and Lexi Dilbeck with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for training on how to use the Fayetteville Public Library’s audiovisual studio.
The training helped prepare our team to create an upcoming video podcast series about human trafficking specifically for law enforcement professionals.

The Fayetteville Public Library’s Center for Innovation offers incredible resources to our community at no cost. A special thank-you to Scott for sharing his expertise and equipping us for this exciting project!

ITL volunteers Carla and Charleigh and goodie bakers Marilyn and Jody helped raise money to help end child trafficking and bring hope to survivors!
