This Memorial Day we join our community in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage gave us the freedoms we often enjoy without thinking and their sacrifice deserves far more than just a moment of remembrance.

Today we pause with grateful hearts for those who never made it home and for the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

Today we had the pleasure of welcoming Sarah Edwards to speak with the Mountain Home Lions Club.

Sarah shared more about the work being done through the Baxter Health Foundation and the impact it continues to make right here in our community. From supporting healthcare initiatives to helping provide resources that directly benefit local families. It was a great reminder of what can happen when people come together for a bigger purpose.

We appreciate Sarah taking the time to join us today and for everything the Foundation continues to do for the Twin Lakes Area. Community is stronger when people show up for each other and that’s exactly what organizations like this are all about.

Well… they beat us to it!

We had every intention of getting a post up yesterday after our visit with Mountain Home Christian Clinic but when you’ve got a great tour guide who knows their stuff and a Lion (who shall remain nameless) asking all the questions time gets away from you real quick.

All jokes aside we can’t say enough good things about the folks at the Clinic. The heart behind what they do, the care they provide and the way they serve this community well it matters. We’re proud to stand alongside them.

Thank you for having us and for everything you continue to do. We’re grateful for the partnership and already looking forward to the next visit. Maybe we’ll just budget a little extra time next go around.

Enjoyed providing a clinic tour for the Lions Club members today following their meeting. The Mountain Home Lions Club has been a long time supporter of the mission of the clinic and we are thankful to continue that collaboration going into the clinic’s 26th year of service. Kristen Sloan Brewer, RN, Clinical Director provided members with information about the clinic, she and Brandi Sharp, APRN answered questions the members had prior to touring the facility.

It’s hard to put into words what this past weekend meant. The Recycle Regatta wasn’t just a fun day on/ at the water but it was a full community effort. From the creativity in those builds to the laughs, the competition and the moments shared between families it was truly something special.

To our sponsors thank you for believing in an idea that started simple and turned into something bigger:

Buzzard Roost Boat Dock
Baxter Recycling
Harps Food Stores
Ozark Print Market
Good Impressions Printing
Arvest Bank
Walmart
Farmers & Merchants Bank
FNBC
Anstaff Bank

You helped make this possible. To everyone who built a boat, showed up to race, cheered from the shore, volunteered your time or just came out to enjoy the day you are the reason this worked. That’s what “We Serve” looks like in real life. We couldn’t ask for a better community. We’re proud of what this became and even more excited for what it can be next year.

Let’s run it back!

TODAY’S THE DAY!

The Recycle Regatta is finally here and we’re ready to see what you’ve dreamed up, what you’ve built and if we are being honest what actually floats. This one’s been fun to watch come together. A whole lot of creativity, a whole lot of jugs and a whole lot of people stepping up to be part of something different for our community. If you’ve been working on a boat today’s your time to show it off. If you haven’t come out anyway. You’ll want to see this. It’s not just about the race. It’s about getting together, having some fun and doing something good with it.

We’ll see you out there.

It’s officially Regatta Week.

That means the countdown is on for the Mountain Home Lions Club Recycle Regatta Jug Boat Race this Saturday and we’re ready to see what you’ve been building.

If you’ve been collecting jugs, sketching ideas and piecing together something that may or may not float then this is your moment. If you haven’t started yet there’s still time to get creative and jump in.

This is what it’s all about. A little competition, a lot of laughs and a great way to bring the community together while doing something good with what would’ve been thrown away.

So the real question is… are you ready to race!?
