Good job Little Rock huge win for the health of your firefighters.

For the first time ever, members of the Little Rock Fire Department are being provided with multi-cancer screening on top of their routine physicals. This comes as a result of a hard fought collective bargaining agreement that provides for biennial cancer screening for firefighters. Essentially, it’s from strong union work.
With cancer being the leading cause of death among firefighters, early detection works hand in hand with prevention. While we understand the dangerous nature of our job and that there will always be a need for firefighters to run toward danger, our position is that the acceptable number of deaths from occupational cancer is zero. Until we get to that, the work continues.
