Thank you for joining us Heather Lewis! ❤️💐

I had the best time participating in the Mountain Home Juneteenth Community Festival .

This event was a meaningful way to honor the memory of Aaron Thomas, a proud supporter of the Mountain Home Juneteenth & Black History Committee who believed in preserving the history of Juneteenth through education, community awareness, and the shared value of freedom.

It was also a wonderful way to celebrate 25 years of Juneteenth as an Idaho state holiday. I love to run, but even more than that, I love opportunities like this that bring people together, strengthen community, and remind us of the importance of showing up for one another.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special. It was a beautiful day in Mountain Home, and I was grateful to be part of it.

Thank you Idaho News 6!

🔥🎉 TOMORROW IS THE DAY MOUNTAIN HOME!!

This is it! Tomorrow we come together to celebrate the 25th Annual Mountain Home Juneteenth Community Festival and we cannot WAIT to see you there! 🙌

We are celebrating 25 years of Juneteenth being a holiday in Idaho and 5 years since Juneteenth became a federal holiday. Tomorrow we honor the life and legacy of Joe B. McNeal, whose dedication and vision helped bring Juneteenth to Idaho. 🙏🏾

We will also be honoring the memory of former Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne, who signed Juneteenth into law as a state holiday in 2001. Idaho lost Governor Kempthorne earlier this year, and we want to take a moment tomorrow to recognize his role in this important piece of Idaho history. 💛
