A couple days ago, we were asked if we could help this senior, gentleman cat. We normally don't take on medical cases as our mission is for spaying and neutering pets and ferals. But something pulled at our heartstrings and we knew we needed to assist.
We got him an appointment at Knight Vet Clinic, where he was diagnosed with Stomatitis. In layman's terms, stomatitis is basically where a cat is allergic to the plaque on their teeth. He needs a full mouth extraction. Unfortunately, SNIFF does not have the funds for such an endeavor and this cat had nowhere to stay after the surgery. He has been a friendly stray, abandoned by previous owners, wandering the streets for years, being fed by a very kind lady. He received a 2 week long antibiotic and a steroid injection to help alleviate some discomfort and brought back to his caregiver.
Until, Lo and behold, one of the employees at Knight's took one look at him, fell in love and asked can he come home with me!
Meet Grissom Arthur Gilbert! He will spend the rest of his days being pampered and loved, without a care in the world! And he will feel so much better without those annoying teeth his immune system is rejecting!
Congratulations, Grissom, on your new, wonderful life!
