SHED DOG LEGACY BREEDING ANNOUNCEMENT

The pedigree for this breeding contains the most advanced title shed dogs of any breeding, to my knowledge, to date. This includes all of the dogs in the first two generations and three of the dogs in the third generation as well as some of the best wild shed hunting dogs I know of. Although pedigrees and titles do not guarantee a result, it sure puts the odds in your favor to produce puppies with the desired outcome. Here is a link to the pedigree: https://www.huntinglabpedigree.com/puppy.php?ID=69838

The maternal grandsire is a former UKC Elite Shed Dog Series National Champion and the Dam is the 2024 Runner-Up National Champion. The paternal grandsire not only is an elite, hall of fame shed dog but has titled in multiple dog sports and has sired numerous litters which have produced not only many titled shed dogs (36) but dogs with advanced titles in a variety of dog sports and is littermate to 10xGRHRCH Fields of Fire She's Too Hot to Handle MH HOF “Bleve” who has the most grand passes by a yellow lab in HRC history and tied for all-time female. Both granddams are elite, hall of fame shed dogs. One of the maternal great grandsires placed in the top 7 in every NASHDA Master World Championship. One of the great granddams has produced numerous advanced titled shed dog descendants including a daughter who is the current UKC Elite Shed Dog National Champion and a grand pup who has been in the top 4 in the Dog of the Year series for the last 2 years as well as descendants who have excelled in other dog sports. And another maternal granddam is one of the best all-around shed dogs ever, loved by everyone in the shed dog community.

Sire Stone has an outstanding nose, strong drive and works at a speedy but controlled pace and I believe he has all of characteristics needed to eventually earn his ESD in time. He has a happy temperament, being very friendly with people and other dogs and is especially friendly with small dogs and puppies and tolerant of them. Stone really enjoys and excels and disciplined, structured training. Even though I don’t run hunt tests he has been by far the easiest dog I have had to train on hunt test drills and obedience and I’m sure he would do well in those with the right person. Stone is on the smaller side for a male coming in at just under 50 lbs.

Dam Mali really and truly possesses the proverbial off switch with a strong drive. It is rare to have a dog who is both calm and laid back in the house and turns on the high drive when it’s time to work but Mali has that perfect combination. Mali has a natural quartering, speedy but close hunting style which would make her ideal for upland hunting so that game is not flushed out of shotgun range and she also does well on the traditional retriever drills. Mali’s weight is right at 50 lbs.

Both the sire and dam have all applicable OFA clearances and are clear of all genetic diseases.

I'm proud to announce that our club, Show-Me Shed Dogs, received the Season 9 UKC Elite Shed Dog Club Of The Year award at Nationals. The idea for this club was born when a group of us were standing around at a shed dog event in Mississippi and we committed to trying to host the best and most enjoyable events and we have strived for that ever since. We hosted our first event in the peak of COVID when most of the country was on lock down and we had people from 17 states attend. Thank you to everyone who has attended and/or assisted with our events and to all who voted for us. It is a high honor and we greatly appreciate your support and look forward to the upcoming season.
