ALL IN Mountain Brook invites you to “Parenting the Teenage Brain: Understanding Behavior. Reducing Stress. Building Resilience.” with Dr. Stacy Ladden on Wednesday, April 15 at 12:00 p.m. at the MB Board of Education building. Please register at allinmountainbrook.org or through the link in our bio.
This engaging presentation explores how the adolescent brain and rapid developmental changes influence teen behavior. It reframes behavior as a form of communication, shifting the perspective from defiance to underlying skill gaps, stress, and emotional dysregulation. With this understanding, parenting can move away from control and punishment toward connection, teaching, and skill-building to help reduce conflict, ease power struggles, and support more effective discipline.
Grounded in the 7 Cs of resilience (competence, confidence, connection, character, contribution, coping, and control), this session will offer practical strategies to help teens grow into more independent, capable, and resilient individuals.
