Family First Health and Leg Up Farm are partnering to strengthen pediatric therapy services in our community.

Beginning in January 2027, Family First Health will operate occupational, speech and physical therapy as Family First Health at Leg Up Farm. Children currently receiving these services will continue coming to Leg Up Farm and seeing the therapy team they know and trust.

We’re excited about what this partnership makes possible. By bringing our experience and resources together, we can maintain these therapeutic services and create opportunities to support more children and families.

Leg Up Farm will remain an independent nonprofit and continue providing mental health therapy, equine-related services, nutrition counseling and summer camp programming.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Mental health is part of overall health, and everyone deserves support when they need it.

For some, that support may look like talking with a trusted person. For others, it may mean working with a therapist, spending time with animals, finding a creative outlet, or simply having a safe space to be themselves.

At Leg Up Farm, we believe mental health support should meet people where they are, with opportunities to build confidence, connection, coping skills, and a greater sense of purpose.

Today, we’re recognizing the importance of making mental health a part of the conversation, not something we have to face alone.

It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to talk about it. And it’s okay to take care of your mind.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're celebrating the power of connection and the people who help us feel a little less alone.

Sometimes, healing looks a little different.

One soldier who participated in Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy at Leg Up Farm shared:

“I am better able to look at my situation as a herd mentality, and that in spending my time with the herd (mine and the horses) I can observe how they can work themselves out. I realized I do not have to react to things that happen in my herd.”

For some, the horses provide a different way to process, reflect, and understand what they’re experiencing.

Keeping our programs affordable means we can make that opportunity available to more veterans, first responders, EMS and police professionals, children, and families in our community.

Did you know that September 25th is National Psychotherapy Day?

Psychotherapy is more than simply talking. It can help people better understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while building tools to navigate life’s challenges.

At Leg Up Farm, our mental health services provide a supportive space where children, teens, and adults can work toward greater confidence, connection, and well-being.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to mental health, and sometimes, having the right person beside you can be an important part of the journey.
