Spero Family Services Providing Hope, Help, and Healing throughout Southern Illinois We have 10 different services including youth homes in Mt.

Spero Family Services is a multi-faceted human services organization that serves local children, youth and families in need, currently in 5 counties, and we are growing! Vernon for kids ages 12-21, a Counseling & Wellness Center, Bright Start Childcare in Mt. Vernon, Parents as teachers, Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ), a Foster Care program, and more! Although Spero Family Services is a faith-based agency, programs are open and available to anyone fitting the service criteria without discrimination and regardless of faith or denominational background.

🎄✨ Christmas Trees, Wreaths, Dueling Pianos & Holiday Cheer! 🎹

It’s almost time for one of Mount Vernon’s favorite holiday traditions! 🎄 Spero Family Services and Cedarhurst Center for the Arts are teaming up again for the 19th Annual Festival of Trees, a festive celebration that brings our community together for a meaningful cause. Every ticket, bid, and donation helps support the work of both organizations and the people we serve. ❤️

🎹 FESTIVAL OF TREES GALA
📅 Friday, November 20
📍 Cedarhurst Center for the Arts | Mount Vernon

Enjoy a delicious dinner, beautifully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, and baskets, a live auction, and an unforgettable evening of Dueling Pianos entertainment by 88Keyz! Get ready for high-energy music, sing-along favorites, and plenty of holiday fun.

🥂 Make It a VIP Evening!
VIP guests enjoy early entry at 5:30 PM, a ch*****ne welcome, passed hors d’oeuvres, and the first opportunity to bid on select trees and wreaths before general admission begins.

🎟️ Gala tickets: $150 per person | VIP upgrade: an additional $50
🕕 Cocktail hour, tree viewing, and bidding begin at 6 PM.

Through Spero’s new RISE initiative, Bright Start Early Learning Center and Parents as Teachers are coming together to connect early learning with parenting resources and family support, helping children and families build a stronger foundation for the future.

Learning From One Another. 💚

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming colleagues from Chaddock, Cunningham Children's Home of Urbana Il, and Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes to Spero for the Methodist Ministries Network Tour.

It was a meaningful day of sharing Spero’s story, learning from one another, and exchanging ideas that strengthen the work we do for children, youth, and families.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow Methodist organizations, share our experiences, and learn from the important work happening across our network.

🎉 We’re excited to share that Spero recently opened a new Family Advocacy Center in Murphysboro!

The FAC helps individuals and families connect with support, community resources, parenting groups, education, DCFS Alumni services, and more. No referral is needed — families can reach out directly.

🎃 Come kick off this new chapter with a Boo Bash! Join Spero on Friday, October 23, from 5–7 p.m. for games, candy, costumes, and a chance to learn more about the FAC and the resources available to families.
