Spero Family Services is a multi-faceted human services organization that serves local children, youth and families in need, currently in 5 counties, and we are growing! Vernon for kids ages 12-21, a Counseling & Wellness Center, Bright Start Childcare in Mt. Vernon, Parents as teachers, Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ), a Foster Care program, and more! Big news! 🎉 Spero Family Services has received nearly $500,000 through the Illinois Not-for-Profit Security Grant Program to support safety and security enhancements at our Mount Vernon and Murphysboro locations.

This funding will help strengthen our campuses through physical security upgrades, cybersecurity enhancements, and other protective measures—allowing us to continue providing safe, welcoming spaces for the children, families, and communities we serve. 💙

One of our YouthBuild participants, Victor R., recently attended the Illinois YouthBuild Leadership Summit in Springfield, where he connected with other YouthBuild students from across the state and met State Representative Dave Severin.

Victor's favorite part of the experience was meeting new people and making new connections. We're proud of Victor for building new connections, growing his leadership skills, and representing YouthBuild of South Central Illinois so well! 👏

Did you know many car seats are installed incorrectly? A quick safety check can make all the difference in keeping your child safe on the road.

We’re teaming up with ProjectCHILD and the Mount Vernon Fire Department for FREE Car Seat Safety Checks. Certified technicians will be on-site to inspect, adjust, and make sure your child’s seat is properly installed and secure. 💙

We’re partnering with ProjectCHILD and the Mount Vernon Fire Department to offer FREE Car Seat Safety Checks for local families.

Certified technicians will be on-site to inspect car seats, assist with proper installation, answer questions, and help make sure your child is riding safely. 💙
