Little Pepper had a splayed leg. This sweet girl had tons of s***k but required tons of 💸 moolah at the veterinarian.
Melissa takes in any bird in good or bad health and pays for it from her own pocket. There are very few vets that even see chickens. They're considered exotic or specialty vets and they are expensive. No discount, not even for a rescue.

What a pretty girl! Her mama couldn't keep her!
The sanctuary suggests a minimum 25$ surrender fee to cover the initial cost of food for the surrendered animal. That bag of food goes quickly. We need food sponsors!
