As we celebrate 75 years of standing united in Knox County, we're looking for an Operations & Marketing Manager to keep our office running, manage our systems and donor data, and help us run our annual campaign behind the scenes.

If you're organized, tech-savvy, love making things work, and care about this community, we'd love to hear from you. This is a full-time, salaried position ($40,000–$55,000, depending on experience) based in Mount Vernon.

Brit shares about her background in nonprofit consulting, ministry, communications, and teaching at MVNU, as well as what led her to this new leadership role.

As the United Way celebrates its 75th Anniversary, Brit discusses this year’s “We Stand United, We Live United” campaign and the goal of raising $1 million to support local nonprofits and meet growing community needs. She also shares her vision for the organization, ways the community can get involved, and her hopes for building meaningful connections throughout Knox County.

Happy 9 to 5 Day, Knox County! 📚 Today is United Way of Knox County's day to honor the late, great Dolly Parton and the Imagination Library we're proud to fund, which has put 300,000+ free books into the hands of Knox County kids and counting.

To kick it off, Mayor Matt Starr proclaimed today Dolly Parton Appreciation Day in Mount Vernon. And when we walked past the Municipal Center, the city team invited Dolly inside to accept it in the council chambers. (Yes, really!)

Then we gave her the grand tour of the community she's helped raise into readers, with stops at MVNU, Kenyon, Ariel-Foundation Park, the Schnormeier Gallery, Paragraphs, Happy Bean, Baker Road Retreat Destination, Heartland Commerce Park, and many more!

Summer often means extra help for many businesses. If you're hiring seasonal or part-time employees, the reminds employers that these workers are subject to the same federal income tax withholding, Social Security, and Medicare tax rules as other employees.



If you're a seasonal employer, you also may not have to file Form 941 for quarters when you paid no wages and have no tax liability. Check the "seasonal employer" box in Part 3 of every Form 941 you file.
