It has been amazing watching these puppies grow! 🐶Time really does fly, it seems like just yesterday I was transporting them in the "Puppy mobile" and now they have grown into such good puppies, a little hyper at times but we still love every single one of their personalities! ☺️❣️

🐾🛁 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – STARTING JULY! 🛁🐾
We are excited to launch our new volunteer program at PAWS- City of Mount Vernon Animal Shelter beginning in July!

Starting this July, volunteers will be welcome Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM to spend time with our shelter pets. Whether it's walking dogs, giving belly rubs, brushing, bathing, helping with socialization, or simply showing them some love, every minute you spend with these animals makes a difference.
📋 Volunteer Applications Are Available Now! Stop by the shelter and pick up an application today.
If you have filled out a volunteer application in the past, please note that we are requiring everyone to submit a new updated application before participating in the program, as our applications have been updated.
🫧 Bubble Bath Wednesdays Our bathing program will be scheduled to ensure every dog gets the attention they deserve. If you're interested specifically in helping with baths, please let us know and we'll get you on the schedule.
These dogs didn't choose to be here, but together we can make their stay a little brighter while they wait for their forever homes. A few hours of your time can mean the world to a shelter pet.

UPDATE: A little word from Moe's fosters. 🫶🏼

Moe update: No potty accidents as of day 3! He is crate training like a champ & has done well with our cats and senior Corgi. Structured routine & breaks from the pup have helped our pets acclimate to Moe. He is energetic, loving, and wants to be involved in everything we do. He is not fearful of new situations. He enjoys playing fetch, playing in the water, & going on short walks. What a sweet boy!

Congratulation's to the Kelly family on your new foster baby! 🐶 Thank you for opening the doors to your home for Moe. It makes us happy to know he is in good hands and that he will get unlimited play and cuddle time! He has already made a new best friend! ❤️

🐾 The Shelter Is Currently Full 🐾

Due to the increased number of animals needing care this season, our shelter is currently unable to accept additional animals at this time.

Currently, we have a waitlist for dogs and cats needing intake. The list has grown quite long, but please know that we are actively working through it and doing everything we can to help as many animals as possible.

We understand how difficult it can be to wait when a pet needs assistance, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this busy season. Our team remains committed to providing the best care possible for the animals already in our shelter while continuing to assist those on our waitlist as space becomes available.⭐️📋
