We’re grateful to welcome Puget Sound Energy as the first sponsor of this year’s Skagit Friendship House Harvest Festival!

On September 19, we’ll gather at Terramar Brewstillery for an afternoon of music, local vendors, games, food and community-all while supporting the work of Skagit Friendship House.

Events like this take a community to make happen, and we’re thankful to Puget Sound Energy for stepping up early and helping us bring people together in support of our neighbors.

Thank you, Puget Sound Energy, for investing in our community and in the work happening right here in Skagit County.

We look forward to celebrating with you on September 19!

🪥 A small donation can make a big difference. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to an anonymous donor who recently provided these hygiene supplies for Skagit Friendship House!

Items like these help us put together hygiene kits for our residents—providing everyday essentials that many of us rarely have to think twice about.

And right now, we could use a little help filling our next round of kits.

We’re especially in need of:

🪒 Double-blade/single-use razors
🪥 Toothbrushes
🦷 Travel-size toothpaste & floss
🧴 Travel-size shampoo & conditioner
🧴 Travel-size lotion

If you’re out shopping and would like to pick up an extra item or two, every contribution helps us keep these basic necessities available for the people we serve.

Thank you to our anonymous donor, and to everyone in our community who continues to show up for our neighbors. ❤️

Sometimes something as simple as a toothbrush, a razor, or a bottle of shampoo can help someone start their day feeling a little more like themselves.

Give someone a safe place, and you give them room to build.

Nicholas came to Skagit Friendship House this spring with nowhere to sleep. Today he’s making things by hand and working towards a small business of his own. A safe bed didn’t just get him off the street. It gave him room to imagine a future.

📬 On our mailing list? Keep an eye out - Nicholas’s full story is headed to your mailbox in the next couple of weeks.

🇺🇸 While many of us celebrated Independence Day with family and friends, 19 volunteers chose to spend part of their 4th of July weekend serving their neighbors. ❤️

For more than 40 years, Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church has been a faithful partner of Skagit Friendship House, and this Independence Day was no exception.

Nineteen dedicated volunteers spent the day at our Skagit First Step Center, helping us prepare for the months ahead by:

🧥 Sorting clothing donations

🚲 Repairing bicycles so future residents have reliable transportation

📦 Organizing our storage areas

🍽️ Sharing lunch with residents and spending time in conversation

Their service wasn’t just about completing projects, it was about showing our neighbors that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

As our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, we’re reminded that one of America’s greatest traditions is neighbors helping neighbors. Acts of kindness like these strengthen our community and give hope to those who need it most.

To everyone from Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church who gave part of your holiday to serve alongside us…

Thank you for your faithful partnership, your generous hearts, and more than four decades of standing with Skagit Friendship House. We are truly grateful. ❤️

❤️ 1 in 5 children in America faces hunger. Summer can be one of the hardest times of the year.

Today, Skagit Friendship House is proud to join organizations across the country in Nourish the American Dream, a nationwide effort to help ensure children have access to healthy meals during the summer months.

From today through July 7, every gift made through our campaign will help provide food and hope for children and families right here in Skagit County.

Because while this is a national movement…

❤️ Your generosity stays local.

Every dollar donated through Skagit Friendship House helps support our neighbors and strengthens our community.

Join us this week as we work together to make sure every child has the opportunity to thrive.

Because the American Dream starts with a full plate.

👇 Our campaign is officially underway! Donate today and help nourish local children and families.

🧈🥖 Butter. Bread. Sour cream. Cheese. Fresh produce… and a whole lot of love. ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to Edison Lutheran Church of Bow for blessing the Friendship House Café with an incredible donation of food!

As one of our valued Monthly Meal Club partners, Edison Lutheran Church not only helps provide food—they help create a welcoming, home-like meal for our residents each month. Their generosity, compassion, and commitment make a lasting difference.

Every loaf of bread, every tub of butter, every can of vegetables, and every bag of cheese will help us prepare meals that nourish our residents and remind them they are cared for.

💙 Interested in making a difference? Our Monthly Meal Club is always looking to welcome additional churches, civic groups, businesses, and community organizations who would like to prepare and serve an evening meal at Friendship House. It’s a meaningful way to connect with our residents and make a tangible impact in our community.

Thank you, Edison Lutheran Church of Bow, for helping us serve hope—one meal at a time.
