Mount Vernon First Street Community Center www.firststreetcc.com The First Street Community Center offers shopping with ten diverse retail shops collectively known as The Old School Shops.

The First Street Community Center offers a diverse group of retail shops, business offices, the Uptown Theatre, dance / yoga /tumbling/fitness instruction, a lending library with children's play area, and ten retail venues. See the Old School Shops page. Home to The Uptown Theatre which is a great venue for Mount Vernon/Lisbon Community Theatre and live music. Dance Arts Iowa offers instruction in Ballet, Irish Step, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and tumbling. A free lending library can host classes, small venues and meetings. There are several service businesses as well; music lessons, health and fitness, insurance. This is where our community gathers, come check us out!
