Registration for the 2025 Season for the Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund opens November 10th online at https://www.goskagit.com/xmasfund/ and will close on December 12th.

Registration forms may also be turned in at the seasonal Christmas Fund Headquarters located at the Skagit County Fairgrounds, Building A/B, North Entrance, 1410 Virginia Street, Mount Vernon. Drive through distribution of gift bags will be from December 17th-20th, 10 am- 3 pm.

Those wishing to get involved and give back to the community may do so in many ways:

• Sponsor/adopt a family, whereby families are matched up to sponsors who will shop for toys, books, and provide groceries or grocery gift cards and deliver them to families directly. The deadline to sponsor a family is November 19th.

• Donate new, unwrapped toys, books, or hats for boys and girls aged 17 years old.

• Knit or crochet hats for boys and girls aged 0-17 years old. If necessary, yarn will be provided as available.

• Volunteer during the season at the fairgrounds. Opportunities include data entry, answering phones, filling gift bags, and helping with distribution of gift bags.

• Provide a monetary donation to help sustain the Christmas Fund.

Santa’s elves have been busy distributing toys, books, and gift cards. Tomorrow is our last regular distribution. Be sure to pick up your gifts between 10am and 3pm. The gates close promptly at 3pm.

Distribution begins Tuesday, December 17 and continues through Saturday, December 21. Appointments begin at 10 am and end at 3:00 pm.

You may register in person for a late appointment during those same times. Late distribution will be Monday, December 23 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. If you cannot make that time, another person may pick up the gifts for you by showing a screenshot of your registration form.

The Moose Old Skagit Gun Club raised a whopping $15,300 and collected toys for the Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund through their annual turkey shoot on November 9th. The Skagit Valley Herald Christmas Fund thanks the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe for their support by awarding a grant of $55,000 for the operation of the Christmas Fund. This grant allows us to provide a happy holiday season for the children of Skagit Valley. Thank you!

SKAGIT VALLEY HERALD CHRISTMAS FUND LATE REGISTRATION

After Saturday, December 16, if you still need to sign up for the Xmas Fund, please come to the Skagit County Fairgrounds:

Monday, December 18 = 10 am – 2 pm

Tuesday, December 19 = 10 am – 2 pm

Wednesday, December 20 = 10 am – 2 pm

You can then fill out a form and then pick up your gift bag.

If you have already registered but have not picked up your gifts, you can also come on these days.

Note: We are at the North entrance to the Fairgrounds, 1410 Virginia Street, Mt Vernon.

URGENT: More than 2,000 families have registered this year, and we are in need of the following:

Toys for all ages but especially for girls 14+

Books for all ages 2+ English or Spanish

Games and activity books (no Monopoly, please)

Stuffed animals

Hats, scarves, and gloves

New items in their original packaging may be dropped off at the North entrance of the Fairgrounds in Mount Vernon through Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm.
