Here it is folks!!! The October calender is here! Note we have some fun things going on this month. We have a Halloween party on the 25th with prizes for best costume. And don'd forget to come eat with us on Saturdays starting at 5pm, we are having Fish this Saturday!!! Come be a part of the fun! And now till the end of Football season we will be having Football Sundays if the game is on early. So come on down and see us and enjoy some finger food and FOOTBALL!!!

Today the Nation pauses to remember the sacrifice and service of prisoners of war, members still missing in action and their families.

As of September 19, 2014, more than 83,000 American military personnel are still unaccounted-for from WWII to the Gulf War. These numbers include approximately 73,000 heroes still missing from World War II, 7,800 from the Korean War, 1,640 from the Vietnam War, 126 from the Cold War and 2 from the Gulf War.

Every American must be accounted for and brought home to their families.

Please never forget these heroes or their great sacrifice. Their courage in foreign wars to fight for freedom has safeguarded our liberty as American citizens.

I am forever grateful.

Awesome job to our Post 3992 LA as well!!!

Happy 100th anniversary (and 1 day) to the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

For over 100 years the Ladies Auxiliary has been a instrumental partner in helping the VFW care for veterans all across the world with several tens of millions of hours of volunteer service and millions of dollars donated in support of veterans. The Ladies Auxiliary is a formidable ally that the VFW is extremely proud of.

Everything starts somewhere. What have you started?

Here is a preview of more pictures to come! The University of Pittsburgh organized a ceremony to honor this historic plaque marking the formal naming of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in this location in 1914. It was also the beginning of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW!
