Skagit Community Foundation The Skagit Community Foundation provides a service to donors who want to set up charitable endowments or contribute donations to the community.

Grant requests accepted from qualified 501c3 nonprofit organizations through our grant process on our website. In 1991, a small group of civic leaders in Anacortes envisioned a community foundation that could meet their hopes and dreams for a performing arts center. A concert fundraiser featuring Burl Ives and friends created the funds to establish the first endowment for a performing arts center

that would become McIntyre Hall. Donors also established endowments for libraries, parks, museums, scholarships and their favorite nonprofit organizations. Today, the Skagit Community Foundation is entrusted with over 40 component funds. We exist to fulfill the desires of donors to take care of the people and place where they live.

After a careful review process, six finalists were selected, and thanks to the generosity of AWGC members and supporters, an incredible $43,000 was raised to fund five of these important projects.

AWGC is a passionate group of women committed to making a meaningful impact in Anacortes. By coming together and pooling their donations, members are able to amplify their collective giving and strengthen vital programs and resources that benefit children, youth, and families in our community.
