Our Story

Tri-County Women's Club is an affiliate of the National Association of Colored Women's Club Inc., NACWC, (the oldest black women's organization est. 1896). www.nacwc.org Mary Church Terrell, the wife of Booker T. Washington, and Mary McLeod Bethune were some of the outstanding leaders of our organization. We are also affiliated with the Empire State Federation of Women's Clubs, Inc., established in 1908. The women of Tri-County reside in New York City and Westchester County. At our annual scholarship luncheon we recognize outstanding leaders from the community and give scholarships to select youth with outstanding academic achievements and definite goals for the future. Under the direction of our forth president, Linda Satterfield, we are striving to move forward and progress to new heights. Linda Satterfield is a true advocate for the youth guiding activities including but not limited to feeding the homeless, food drives, Martin Luther King National Day of Service, college fairs, and visits to local nursing homes. Under her supervision members have been exposed to different elements of culture and have participated in various educational workshops. She is a true example of a leader and sister who loves her club sisters and brothers to the "moon and back".
