First, I want to thank all of the volunteers, local businesses, and everyone who has stepped in and supported PHOP’s Place! 🏆 You all are rockstars!!! ⭐️

With your support, we have been able to provide 5 care baskets to families facing grief, assisted in coordination for Teacher Appreciation Week meals for the Mount Vernon Middle School, helped in the search and rescue efforts of a missing pet (who was found safe!) and we are currently working on plans for an event/fundraiser this coming month. 📣

It’s such a blessing to be supported by such an amazing community that offers so much to one another 💖

Here’s where the “plan” didn’t go as planned.

I didn’t intend to go radio silent these last several weeks. Life happened.

I’m sure many of you understand just how difficult life can be…unexpected at that. At times, knocking the wind right out of your sail, zero warning.

💗 Which is why my whole heart believes in the mission of PHOP’s Place 💗

This “plan” came to mind decades ago. The realization that loving those needing loved 🥰 is everything. Being there for people in their journey and having people show up for you in yours, is completely soul touching.

But where would it start?? And with who?? And if not now, then when?? ⏰

Showing up can be hard. Seeing struggle could be uncomfortable. Facing hardships might expose insecurities.

But isn’t that when the gift of love is most important??

Life is to be celebrated 🤩 Filled with joy! Loaded with love and laughter 🥰 (PHOP’s is here for that, too!)

Though, other times…diagnosis, disaster, death…it takes our breath away and leaning into love might be the only place to find strength 💪

Well…to put it simply, one of those dreaded “D” words rocked my world, once again. I have both paused (almost to a full stop) and then remembered (with the most amazing grace) why PHOP’s Place is so needed 🤗

You see, I know, I’m not the only person facing this. And I won’t be the last person to get one of those calls.

Which is why People Helping Other People, right then, in those moments in life, may be just where we can ALL find our footing in this journey. Doing the things needed to strengthen us both as individuals and as a community.

Sharing love in these moments may build bonds which fortifies our hearts and shape our experience 💝

I am committed to traveling this road with my own loved ones, as well as, extending this offering to our community…with my whole heart. Because, together, we will walk through this journey of life. And supporting each other through it, is true love 💗

So I guess I’ll answer that “who, what, when, where” with something that struck me years ago…

I must stick with the “Plan” 🫶

Do all that we can, for as many as we can, as often as we can, for as long as we can, everywhere we can 😌

As many of you may know, grief has had an incredible impact our family in recent years. The love that is expressed through shared grief is so unique.

Participating in griefs' journey is a whirlwind. Seeking refuge in the mercy, grace and the love that is shared is enduring.

Which is where PHOP's Place takes root. Right in the heart of grief. It's where People Helping Other People can come together. A place to give, recieve and heal together.

The mission is to serve those in need. A coalition coming together for the purpose of helping each other heal, persevere and stand stronger together. There are many ideas, hopes and goals we have. But showing up with love is where it all begins.

Please feel free to follow along, support our efforts, reach out for help or just stick around and see how we are helping each other through difficult times and maybe be encouraged along the way.
