Neighbors Driving Neighbors is Hosting a Match Game Fundraiser!

Here’s what past players of the Game have said about this fun event:

"I have played David's History Match Game at least three times, each with a different theme, and enjoyed it immensely. It's a really fun game and a walk through current events." —Carol from Rome

"I have enjoyed playing the History Match Game multiple times. Using a veritable trove of Time and Newsweek covers, the game is most interesting, intellectually challenging, and great fun!" —Parker from Waterville

"I've enjoyed playing History Match Game. It is certainly challenging and promotes a high level of teamsmanship." —Richard from Waterville

"David is a collector and a creative teacher. The object of the game is to match the autographed magazine photo covers to the short descriptions David gives to you for the individual on the cover. It can be informative, competitive, frustrating but always a fun time." —Alan from Belgrade

Join us on Saturday, March 28, from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at the Belgrade Community Center for All Seasons. Call 207-860-0677 or email [email protected]
by March 18 to reserve your spot! Cost is by donation at the door.

On January 11, Neighbors Driving Neighbors held its’s annual in-person board meeting which combined the usual work of the board with a more informal potluck get-together to celebrate the new year. This year, we also had one more thing on the agenda—to acknowledge the retirement of our executive director, Joe Austin.

Joe joined us in 2022 as we tried to navigate the “new normal” of Covid 19. It was a challenge to be sure, but one that he met with determination and leadership. His many years working in career development, civic advancement and community outreach at UMF, USM and more had well prepared him for understanding the needs of a nonprofit such as ours. His “Maine DNA” certainly aligned him with our mission.

Over the years, Joe has helped to broaden our name recognition, has built trust in the community with both riders and drivers, has helped oversee our expansion to Readfield and has developed new donor development resources. He’s also been a steady, calm voice of reason and embodies the humble, neighborly guy that we all relate to—and feel honored to have worked with.

We wish him well on his next chapter.
