“The challenges facing our world don’t stop at borders, and neither should we.”

Earlier this year, Councilmember Dr. Nina Ahmad joined ANHE in Philadelphia for a conversation on clean air, climate, health, and the responsibility we share to protect people and the planet.

From climate action to community well-being, nurses and health advocates have a critical role to play in building a healthier, more sustainable future for all.

“Clean air isn’t optional. It’s a right. And right now, that right needs defending.”

Earlier this year in Philadelphia, Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta joined ANHE, health leaders, nurses, clinicians, and advocates to speak out against federal rollbacks weakening critical air quality protections.

The health impacts of pollution are already being felt across Philadelphia, from worsening asthma to heat-related illness, especially in Black and Brown communities facing disproportionate pollution burdens.

Clean air is fundamental to public health. Add your voice today and tell state leaders to defend our right to clean air (link in bio): https://zurl.co/ChYQa

Nurses have a powerful voice in protecting public health, and Jason Kirchick, MPH, MSN, CNL, RN, MEDSURG-BC is using his.

As an ANHE Nurse Fellow alumnus, Jason has been working in his home state of Vermont to help advance a ban on paraquat, a highly toxic pesticide linked to serious health concerns for workers, families, and communities.

In this video, Jason shares what this advocacy has looked like on the ground and why nurses have an important role to play in pushing for policies that prevent harm before it reaches the bedside.

Watch and hear why protecting health means speaking up for safer environments.
