American Legion Post 903 located in Mt Pocono PA has four organizations that we’re actively seeking new members to join. The four organization’s are the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary and the Monroe County Joint Veterans Honor Guard. Below you’ll find information on how to become eligible to join these organization.
American Legion
The American Legion is the nation’s largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
If you are currently on active duty, serving the United States honorably, anywhere in the world, or have served honorably during any of the following eligible war eras, we invite you to become a member of The American Legion.
Sons of the American Legion
All male descendants adopted sons, and stepsons of members of The American Legion, and such male descendants of veterans who died in service during the period of April 6, 1917, through November 11, 1918, or any time from December 7, 1941, to present day who served honorably, as set forth in Article IV, Section 1, of the National Constitution of The American Legion, or who died subsequent to their honorable discharge from such service are eligible for membership in the Sons of The American Legion.
Ladies Auxiliary
Women are eligible for membership in the Ladies Auxiliary if they are themselves a veteran who served honorably or if they fall into one of the following categories Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Granddaughter,Great Granddaughter, Grandmother,Great Grandmother of an active duty service member or veteran who served honorably any time from WWI to Present. Step-relatives in the categories above, such as step-mother, step-sister, step-daughter, are also eligible to join.
Monroe County Joint Veterans Honor Guard
If you become a member of any of these three organizations you’re automatically eligible to join the Monroe County joint Veterans Honor Guard. Uniforms, training and equipment will be proviedat no extra cost to members.
