🚒❤️ A BIG thank you to our friends from the Mount Pleasant IA Fire Department for visiting MPCS last week during National Fire Prevention Week!

This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” highlights how safe charging habits can help prevent fires involving lithium-ion batteries. These batteries are found in cell phones, tablets, and many other rechargeable devices. Everyday habits, such as using the correct charger and charging devices on a hard, flat surface instead of a bed, couch, or under a pillow, can help keep our families safe!

Our students also learned important reminders about never playing with matches or lighters, keeping smoke alarms working, and having a family meeting place outside in case of a fire.

Students were thrilled to see our fire dog friend Marshall and get an up-close look at one of the fire trucks! Each student received a special coloring book, crayons, and a bag to take home. 🖍️🐾

Some of our students also attended the Mount Pleasant Fire Department Open House last Wednesday evening and loved it!

We are so grateful for the many ways our fire department serves and protects our community. Thank you for taking the time to help our children learn how to prevent fires and stay safe. We appreciate you! ❤️🚒

One of our favorite events each fall is Grandparents’ Day! Grandparents hold an irreplaceable place in their grandchildren’s lives, and we were thrilled to welcome our MPCS grandparents for a special morning together.

Our guests joined us for our pledges to the American and Christian flags, followed by the 15 minutes of praise and worship that begin each school day. We loved getting to praise the Lord all together!

Grandparents were then invited to spend time praying individually with their grandchildren. What a beautiful sight to see the room filled with grandparents and grandchildren coming before the Lord in prayer! A grandparent’s prayers are among the greatest gifts a grandchild can receive.

The morning continued with delicious donuts and muffins, followed by classroom visits where students proudly showed their grandparents where they learn and grow.

Thank you, grandparents, for the love you give, the encouragement you offer, and the prayers you lift up. We are so grateful for you! ❤️
