A huge thank you to Mason May for joining us at yesterday’s Rotary meeting to share more about the incredible Work4College Program at Northeast Texas Community College! 🎓👏

The Work4College Program is making a lasting impact on students by providing them the opportunity to earn a college education debt-free while gaining valuable real-world work experience. Through the program, students develop important life and career skills such as leadership, responsibility, communication, and teamwork — all while working toward a brighter future.

It was inspiring to hear how this program is changing lives and opening doors for students across our region. We appreciate Mason taking the time to educate our club on the positive impact Work4College continues to make in our community!

Last week, our Rotary Club had the privilege of hearing from Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Chairman, Bo Rester! 🤠🐎 We are so grateful he took time out of his busy schedule to share exciting insight about Spurs Week right here in Mount Pleasant!

One of the biggest and most exciting weeks for our city is almost here as the 62nd Annual Mount Pleasant Rodeo kicks off May 28–30! 🎉 You’ll see our community come alive as cowboys, cowgirls, families, and visitors from all over gather to enjoy everything our beautiful town has to offer.

We are honored to have sponsored an academic blanket at each school district in Mount Pleasant in recognition of outstanding student achievement. Congratulations to Jonah Hernandez of MPHS, Jose Renteria of CHHS, and Sareth Rosales of HBISD on this well-deserved honor. We also extend our congratulations to all seniors recognized for their hard work and accomplishments as part of the Class of 2026. We are proud to celebrate the bright future of our local students!

Thank you to Richard Bonney, President of the Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, for sharing updates on everything happening within the Chamber and throughout our community!

Richard highlighted the success of their recent events like the Cinco de Mayo, including the incredible number of visitors who traveled to and stayed in Mount Pleasant. It is exciting to see our town becoming a must-stop destination during festival season!

We are grateful for our Chamber and Visitors Council that is passionate about promoting, growing, and improving our community while continuing to put Mount Pleasant on the map.

This week at Rotary, we had the pleasure of hearing from Jim Funke, Project Director of Texas and Scott Jolibois, Land Manager for Standard Lithium. Jim shared insights from his decades of experience in the chemical industry and gave an inside look at the innovative process Standard Lithium will be using to extract lithium right here in Texas.

It was an informative and exciting program as we continue learning about the growth and opportunities happening in our region! ⚡️

With tears and smiles we are saying Good Luck and Good Bye to our dear friend and Rotarian, Jey Yancey, as he is stepping into a new chapter in his life. ✨

The rotary club decided to dedicate this week’s program to focus on all the great things that Jey has done for us and our community in general. From laughs and tears, we enjoyed celebrating him with our fellow Rotarians and some delicious cake! 🧁

Thank you Jey for everything you’ve done for our organization after 15 years 💙💛 we’re very sad to see you go but we’re also very excited for you!

🍽️✨ The Mount Pleasant Rotary Club had the pleasure of hosting our April 14 meeting at the Tiger Den at Mount Pleasant High School-Texas—and wow, what an experience!

From the Nashville “Hot” chicken sandwich to chicken fried steak and even quesabirria tacos from their “Meal Around the World,” the menu did not disappoint. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor! 👏

We are so grateful to have had our program at The Tiger Den and to see firsthand the incredible talent of these Culinary Arts students under the guidance of Chef Rhiannon Vose. Supporting our community—and especially our students as they grow in their future careers—is something we truly value. 💙

We hope these students go far and continue learning and thriving through this amazing program… and of course, we’re always available if they need taste testers for new recipes! 😆

Let’s just say we all left with one thought—we’ll definitely be back to try more!

📚🔥 The Mount Pleasant Rotary Club wrapped up another exciting stop of our Dictionary Project at Chapel Hill ISD—and the Chapel Hill Devils brought the energy! 😈🙌

We had a blast delivering dictionaries to their awesome third graders, and let’s just say… these young Devils are on fire when it comes to learning! From discovering new words to exploring facts about the world, they’re ready to take on anything that comes their way. 🌎📖

This project is all about sparking curiosity and confidence, and Chapel Hill showed us just how bright their future is!

Thank you for the warm welcome, Chapel Hill—y’all made this visit one to remember! ❤️
