They're here! Our wildlife conservation interns started this week! MC, Jeremy, and Juliet joined refuge staff at Cape Romain to learn how to protect sea turtle nests from potential threats and act as stewards for vulnerable shorebird species while on the islands. We are excited for our interns to continue taking on roles, and assisting the USFWS refuge staff.
Next time you take the Bulls Island Ferry, make sure to say hey to these guys, they may also be one of your guides! 🐢🐣🌊🦀🐬🌴🐚

🌊🐢 Help Protect Sea Turtles! Adopt a Nest Today! 🐢🌊

Did you know that the magnificent sea turtles that return each year to nest on our shores are facing a critical threat from habitat loss and sea level rise?

Help the Coastal Expeditions Foundation's mission to raise $40,000+ each year to support the Sea Turtle Nest Protection Program. For just $35, you can symbolically “adopt a nest” of 120 sea turtle eggs and become a guardian of these amazing marine beings!

Why should you join us in this noble cause? Here's why:

1️⃣ Conservation Champions: By adopting a sea turtle nest, you're taking an active role in loggerhead conservation. Your support ensures the continuation of vital research, protection efforts, and education initiatives.

2️⃣ Make a Lasting Impact: Each nest adopted represents a potential 120 hatchlings making their way to the sea, contributing to the survival of these ancient reptiles. You have the power to help increase their chances of thriving for generations to come!

3️⃣ Educational Opportunities: Your support goes beyond nest protection. This program provides invaluable educational experiences for children and adults alike. By participating, you're helping inspire a new generation of environmental stewards who will safeguard our natural world.

4️⃣ Join a Community: By becoming a nest adopter, you're joining a passionate and caring community dedicated to marine conservation. Share your experience on social media, connect with fellow adopters, & spread awareness about the importance of protecting sea turtles.

5️⃣ A Symbol of Hope: Your adoption not only supports the immediate needs of these nests but also fosters hope for the future. It's a tangible way to show your commitment to the environment and the well-being of our precious marine ecosystems.

Let's ensure the continuation of this vital program! Together, we can raise the $40,000 needed to protect the Cape Romain NWR’s sea turtle nests. Visit our website (link in bio) to adopt your nest today and make a difference in the lives of these remarkable creatures.
