Crafts & Cocoa for Critters — A Fun Night of Holiday Crafting! ☕🎨

Calling all Crafty Critters! Want to create a unique cup of holiday cheer while supporting the shelter? Join us for a fun craft night as we make decorative holiday teacups!

You’ll get to choose your own teacup and saucer to decorate with mini trees, birds, winter holiday bits, and more. It makes a great holiday decoration or a handmade gift for the giving season!

When: Thursday, October 29th | 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Where: First Presbyterian Church (Fellowship Hall) — 902 S Walnut St, Mt. Pleasant, IA

Cost: $20 per person

Seats are limited to 14!

🐾62 Pounds of Incoming Happiness!

POV: You show up, and Tyson decides you're the best thing he's seen all day. 😂❤️

The little gallop. The determination. The absolute commitment to coming over to say hello. Sir, do you have somewhere to be?! Because apparently, it's RIGHT HERE. 🥹

Tyson is a big boy with a surprisingly charming way of making an entrance. And honestly, we'd love for someone to be on the receiving end of that happy little trot every single day.

Imagine coming home and having this guy greet you like you've been gone for approximately 47 years, even though you only went to check the mail. 😂

Tyson is looking for a home where he can be part of someone's everyday life. He can be reactive toward other dogs when he's in his kennel, so proper introductions are important for any potential canine companions. We'd love for interested adopters to meet him outside that environment and get to know him.

Somewhere out there is a person who doesn't know they're missing a 62-pound galloping greeting committee.

All adoptable dogs are $150 and go home with:

To our local farming families - we wish you a safe harvest season with dry skies.

Did you know that you can donate grain directly to All God's Creatures instead of cash? It's one of the most tax-savvy ways to give, and it costs you nothing beyond the bushels themselves.
This harvest season, as the wagons roll and the elevators run late into the night, consider setting aside a few bushels for the pets who need you. It's a gift that costs you little, but means everything to them.

A Reminder that our Paws, Walk, Remember is next Friday, October 23rd 🐾

Join us on Friday, October 23rd at 5:00 PM at East Lake Park (McCoid Shelter) as we gather in loving memory of beloved AGC team member Marissa Tanner and anyone you may be grieving.

🎨 Paint a Rock & Take a Walk: Come paint a memorial rock to place along the trail or keep with you, then take a peaceful walk around the park surrounded by beautiful autumn scenery and supportive community.

When: Friday, October 23rd @ 5:00 PM

Where: East Lake Park (McCoid Shelter)

Cost: Free & open to everyone

Pets: Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome!

🧡 Some hearts take a little longer to feel safe, but that doesn't make them any less deserving of love. 🐾

Mollie is an orange and white beauty, roughly 1 year and 4 months old, who has been with us since she was just a kitten on 7/1/2025.

When Mollie first came to us, the world seemed like a very frightening place. People were scary, but other cats? They were her safe place. Throughout her time here, her feline companions have taken on the role of her protectors, and Mollie has truly thrived with them. ❤️

She's still a very frightened girl, but we've learned that the way to her heart is through wet food, treats, and a little patience. When she feels comfortable enough, you can earn a few gentle pets. We don't know what happened in Mollie's early life to make her so afraid, and it breaks our hearts that she's carried that fear with her.

But Mollie's fear doesn't make her unlovable. It doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a home of her own.

Mollie would do well with other feline friends, and we believe she could thrive in a home that allows her to be herself. That could mean an indoor home, an indoor and outdoor lifestyle, or even an outdoor home with appropriate shelter, food, and care. The important thing is finding someone who understands her needs and won't expect her to become a different cat just to fit their idea of a pet.

Mollie has spent most of her young life in a shelter. She deserves the chance to experience life beyond these walls, with someone who sees her worth even when she's too scared to show them all of herself. She doesn't have to be a lap cat to be loved. Sometimes, the greatest kindness is simply giving a scared little soul a place where she belongs. 🧡🐾

✨ SPECIAL EVENT PRICING: Cats 6+ months are fee waived, kittens under 6 months are $75, and bonded kitten pairs are $75 for two! (Cats who haven't been spayed/neutered will need an additional $50 refundable deposit to ensure you bring them back to be spayed/neutered)

Calling all TNR Crusaders of Henry County, Iowa, and surrounding areas - WE NEED YOU!

A group in our community independently took on a Trap-Neuter-Release project near Oakland Mills. They estimate they have been watching 9 cats for the last few weeks. They have a plan in place and a lovely farm for the cats to go to, but fixing 9 cats is expensive! As of today, our TNR Voucher Program has only $400 in it; we need YOUR help to raise that number so we can keep supporting those doing this important work. Each spay/neuter costs around $50. So far this year, we've supported 6 different TNR efforts in the county, and we'd love to keep the momentum going.

*UPDATE: A generous community has paid for half of Bullet's adoption fee, he can go home for $75*

❤️ Bullet Is Still Waiting for His Happy Ending.

Still handsome. Still being a good boy. Still hoping his person comes along. 🐾

Bullet has worked hard to get where he is, and we love seeing him show us what he's capable of. But we don't want to see that little light in him start to dim.

Regression can happen, especially when a dog spends so much time waiting for life to begin. Bullet deserves more than kennel walls and brief glimpses of the world outside.

He deserves a warm spot to call his own. Room to run, play, and just be a dog. Someone who sees his potential and is willing to keep helping him grow.

He's put in the work. Now he deserves the opportunity to keep moving forward with someone in his corner. ❤️

Let's get Bullet home. He has so much more to give, and we don't want him to lose that spark while he waits for someone to see it.
