PACE participants were "walking on sunshine" this week when we headed outside for a Fall Prevention "move and groove" session! The Therapy Team led an educational session on safety tips for being on the move and enjoying summer outings including being mindful of footwear, uneven ground, and planning ahead for road trips. Participants and staff enjoyed getting some time outdoors in the sun to chat, laugh, stretch, and cruise around the building!

💙💚Join us in congratulating Holly as our Employee of the Quarter!

See below just a couple reasons why she deserves this honor!💚💙

Excellence: Holy has been a true asset to PACE, no matter what department she is working in. She takes care of not only the participants but her co-workers too. She was willing to change her entire week and work in a different department because she saw a coworker in need. This was selfless and deserves recognition!!

Nomination from Participant: Holly is a compassionate “nurse” who is very attentive to all patients. I’ve seen her doing duties that no one wants to handle. I’ll never forget when she noticed that I was in pain. She asked if she could help me. Her concern and compassion toward me and others is always obvious. PACE is blessed to have such employees for their patients! 😊

💚💙Happy Occupational Therapy Month!

The Occupational Therapy team at PACE works with Participant’s on their activities of daily living and helps to promote their ability to do these tasks as independently and safe as possible.

Allison the Therapy Supervisor (and OT!) wanted to take some time to shout out Occupational Therapy team members!

Shout Out #1: “Heather is our Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant- she likes to come up with creative treatments to help you do daily tasks to the best of your ability. Heather is a point person on wheelchair positioning, splinting, and has found a real niche in treating hand issues. Heather brings joy and laughter to the department and is always willing to help out the team to serve PACE Participants!”

Shout Out #2: “Kara is an Occupational Therapist and is an advocate for keeping PACE Participants living as independently as possible. She will coach and cheer for you during your therapy journey! She is an expert in identifying durable medical equipment needs and strategies to help you complete your daily tasks. Kara brings “organizational guru” skills to the team that helps keep us all in line and ready to work with PACE Participants!”

Thank you Kara and Heather for your mOTivation and devOTion to PACE Participants!💙💚
