Walk With Me tour, Stop 3
On Thursday, Board President Kathryn Bingham visited Col Vanderhorst Circle. Technically, this was a drive around with the host neighbor. Homes in this neighborhood sit on almost pastoral lots and we captured views of our characteristic wildlife as the host narrated the history of the development.

This lovely wreath is at Joe’s house. Cypress Pointe homes have everyone from twenty year residents who have raised families to new families who have moved in recently. The neighborhood has seasonal celebrations, including July 4th and Halloween events. Kathryn Bingham loves the fall decor scattered throughout and the college team flags.

Walk With Me tour, 1st Stop
Did you know we have a small cemetery in Dunes West? Dunes West POA board president, Kathryn Bingham, met neighbors from Hartford Village and Downing Place on Tuesday afternoon, to walk and learn about these neighborhoods. High on character and charm, homes on these quiet streets are tucked away off Hartford Village Way just before you'd reach the golf club property. In addition to the cemetery, an island in Downing Place has a lovely gazebo filled with chairs where neighbors might gather and a nearby memorial bench.

Unless conditions change, this will be the final update on Hurricane Dorian from the Emergency Operations Team.

We are fortunate to report that storm surge did not coincide with high tides and we did not experience the anticipated high water level or flooding impacts expected for the community. As the storm moves northwards, our wind impacts continue to diminish. Be mindful that the ground is fairly saturated; winds may continue to push over trees.

For families who have evacuated, please check road conditions and local authoritative resources prior to returning. There were reports of trees blocking highways (including I-26) earlier today.

We appreciate all our volunteer block captains and members of the Emergency Operations Team who have supported the community throughout this event. We are especially grateful to Allied Universal, which was able to support Dunes West with guards who worked 14+ hour shifts manning our gates during Hurricane Dorian.
