Drive4Food The sole purpose of Drive4Food is to raise funds for the Sanpete Pantry, the privately run food bank for Sanpete County.

The primary means of fundraising is The Annual Drive4Food Golf Tournament, OHV Ride, and 5k/10k Run. Sanpete Pantry is dedicated to helping the less fortunate in Sanpete County by providing an opportunity to obtain food at no cost. We work hard to serve those who may be struggling in our community, preserving their dignity, and providing an environment that respects each individual and promotes pe

rsonal responsibility. Sanpete Pantry is dedicated to involving the community in a way that teaches empathy, encourages respect and nurtures compassion, demonstrating a basis of understanding that people who use the pantry could be our neighbors and friends who are struggling without our knowledge. Drive4Food operates under Articles of Incorporation and By-laws with a Board of Directors consisting of local concerned citizens. All Drive4Food personnel are volunteers.

What's next for the Sanpete Pantry? Seven out of ten Board Members have resigned in protest. The employee member of the Board is leaving at the end of the month for a job that pays more than minimum. wage. That leaves two employees and two Board members to attempt to continue operations. The Board members are demoralized, bewildered and frustrated with the response of the County Commissioners. Most have spent the past eight years donating countless hours and thousands of dollars to the Sanpete Pantry. Its tragic that this organization has been treated so poorly. We can't announce a definite closure date, but it is imminent. Attached is Mr. Kearney's (former Managing Director and Board Member of the Sanpete Pantry) explanation of the meeting with the Commissioners. Please make your own judgements and if you so desire, let the Commissioners know what you think!
