Sharing an upcoming event from Charleston County School District.
We are excited to remind you that on Saturday, August 2, 2025, the McKinney-Vento Program in the Department of Federal Programs will be hosting its 3rd Annual Serving the Unhoused and Underserved Event. This community event is dedicated to providing essential services to unhoused and underserved families and individuals in Charleston County. They will have a career fair, health screenings, free food giveaway utility and rental assistance and more....
What does “unhoused and underserved” mean?
This refers to families who lack stable housing and access to necessary resources, including those who are living in temporary shelters, doubled up with family members due to economic hardship, residing in motels/hotels, or in substandard housing. It also includes families facing the constant threat of eviction or displacement.
