🙏 Thank you, Bishop Dennis Walsh, for calling on DHS to stop Fatou Traore’s deportation and bring her home to her family.

Fatou has lived in Iowa City for more than 20 years. Now this mother of four faces deportation to Sierra Leone—a country she has never known. Bishop Walsh calls her removal “a grave injustice.”

Her family, immigrant neighbors, and faith leaders are standing together. We’ll keep organizing until she’s home. Free Fatou now. Keep families together. ✊🏽❤️

My name is Esoumaila Diallo. Fatou Traore is my mom.

After last night’s powerful rally, Representative Miller-Meeks asked DHS to stop my mom’s deportation. We appreciate her letter, but she has not yet agreed to meet with our family. We need her to keep taking action.

My brothers and I need our mom home.

Tomorrow, I’m going to her Davenport office to ask for a meeting and demand urgent action to stop her deportation and secure her release.

📅 Friday, October 2 | 11 a.m.
📍 201 W. 2nd Street, Suite 705, Davenport

Escucha Mi Voz Iowa, Immigrant Welcome Network, and Catholic Workers will be there with us.

Will you stand with our family? Please join us and share this post. Every person who shows up reminds us that we are not alone.

🤝🏽 When our people call, we show up.

Alejandra moved from Illinois to Cedar Rapids to work as an electrician at a new data center. When ICE ordered her to check in, she called Escucha Mi Voz. Today, we accompanied her. Her next check-in isn’t until December 2027! 🙌🏽

Recently moved to Iowa? Update your address with USCIS—and EOIR and ICE if applicable to your case. Want accompaniment to an immigration appointment? 📲 Call 319-382-5203 or message us on Facebook. You don’t have to go alone.

Share so more neighbors know who to call. ❤️

We are very happy to host the Mexican Mobile Consulate here in Cedar Rapids.

🌈 A rainbow appeared over Cedar Rapids this morning as domestic worker Jaky Torres-Toro safely walked out of her ICE check-in and returned to her family and community.

More than 150 people rallied to protect and defend immigrant families—a powerful sign of faith, solidarity, and God’s hope.

Escucha Mi Voz members continue monitoring check-ins today, with no detentions reported so far.

❤️ No one faces ICE alone.
