🐾❤️ 3½ MONTHS OF HOPE, FAITH, AND NEVER GIVING UP… ELSIE IS FINALLY SAFE! 🎉
Some rescue stories remind us miracles happen when people refuse to give up. Elsie’s is one of them. ❤️
Back in July, Linda brought a frightened mama dog named Elsie and her seven babies to NETRO’s attention. They would become the Independence Puppies.
Susan crawled into their hiding place to bring all seven puppies to safety.
But one heartbreaking piece of their family was missing… their mama. 💔
Elsie remained out there, terrified, alone, and impossible to catch.
Days became weeks. Weeks became months.
For 3½ months, Linda, Susan, and Scooter refused to give up. Sleepless nights, heartbreak, and even raccoons in the traps! 🦝😂
Then, another door opened. ❤️
Christine Quaiff connected Susan with Susy Kennedy Rosonke of Backwoods Barkers Rescue in Gladewater. Susy brought a trap, taught Susan how to use it, and provided a motion-activated camera.
As Susan shared, there is no doubt in her heart that God was guiding this rescue. She simply walked through the doors He opened. 🙏❤️
And finally, after 3½ months…
ELSIE IS SAFE! 🥹🎉
At 3–4 years old, sweet Elsie has tested heartworm-positive. An old leg fracture has left bone fragments, and veterinarians are determining the best treatment. Despite everything, she has shown her gentle, loving nature. ❤️
But tonight, she no longer has to face the world alone.
❤️ To Linda, Susan, Scooter, Susy, and Christine: THANK YOU! Every act of kindness and moment of determination brought Elsie closer to safety.
And here’s the beautiful ending to another chapter: Six of Elsie’s seven puppies have found forever homes! Only sweet Dandy is still waiting. 🏡❤️
Seven puppies rescued. Six adopted. One mama finally safe.
Her babies were never forgotten. And neither was she.
🙏 HELP ELSIE HEAL! Her medical journey is just beginning. Every donation helps cover her leg treatment, heartworm care, and full vetting.
Once she is healthy and ready, Elsie will be available for adoption.
