Congratulations to our 2026 Roque "Rocky" E. Villarreal Memorial Scholarship recipient Alberto Avila.
The Roque “Rocky” E. Villarreal Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship intended for a Mount Pleasant High School Senior Athlete. Having the opportunity to establish and award a scholarship in honor of Rocky is a privilege that has brought our family a profound sense of peace and purpose. We are humbled by the chance to support the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and builders.

The Roque “Rocky” E. Villarreal Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship intended for a Mount Pleasant High School Senior Athlete. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Applicants having a college major field of study in Kinesiology AND/OR Exercise Science; AND/OR being a cancer fighter/survivor; AND/OR volunteering in community youth sport organizations in Mount Pleasant, Texas are highly encouraged to consider applying. **(There are only 2 requirements: MPHS SENIOR ATHLETE and GPA 3.0 or higher.) All MPHS Athletes are encouraged to apply. Applicants will need to submit an essay “How I wish to help my community in the future”, along with our scholarship application, high school transcript with GPA, and one letter of recommendation from a Coach and/or teacher. Deadline for application submission is February 13, 2026.
