Stephen Burden passed away January 6th 2026. Our thoughts are with the Burden family and Old Threshers family

He was a long time Midwest Old Threshers volunteer. He had been involved since at least 1969. He helped all over organization trolleys traction steam and the powerhouse.

After a few years helping with a traction engine. His involvement started in the powerhouse when he learned one of our engines needed a younger volunteer to learn the engine so we could continue to demonstrate it for our visitors.

The amount of local Mt Pleasant stories and Old Threshers Stories Steve was able to share was always amazing. I would always leave after a few hours with Steve slightly exhausted as you just never knew what he was going to share or be up to!.

All of us at Midwest Old Threshers and the Steam Powerhouse will miss Steve.
