As we wrap up our Hole Sponsor Spotlights, we wanted to recognize five sponsors whose contributions go far beyond this year's tournament.

These businesses and individuals played a vital role in the construction of the Mount Orab Fire Department Fire Training Tower. Their generosity, time, materials, and support helped turn an idea into a reality. Today, that tower is used to train not only our firefighters, but first responders from departments across the region.

We would like to extend a special thank you to:

⭐ Kibler Lumber – For supplying materials and supporting the project from the very beginning.

⭐ LaRosa's Pizzeria – Tim & Tracy O'Hara – For their generous support and commitment to improving firefighter training in our community. Tim personally worked directly beside some of our firefighters pouring and finishing almost 60 yards of concrete.

⭐ Mt. Orab Auto Mall – For stepping up to help make this project possible and continuing to invest in the safety of our community. The Williams family and Tim O’Hara were responsible for purchasing the concrete for the construction of the building.

⭐ Jimison Construction, LLC – For their expertise contributions during the construction of the training tower. Trevor donated one of the collection tanks for run off, which we turned into an additional training prop for our firefighters to use.

⭐ John Miller, Brett Rogers, Ed Hauck – For the excavation and site work needed for the project, helping lay the foundation for what has become an invaluable training resource. All of these guys played a part in the construction of that tower.

The Mount Orab Fire Training Tower stands today because of community partners like these. Their belief in our department has helped provide safer, more realistic training for firefighters throughout our region, and that impact will be felt for many years to come.

Today, we are honored to recognize two names that golfers will see out on the course at next Saturday's Hook & Iron Classic. Two individuals whose impact on our department and our community will never be forgotten.

❤️ Mayor Bruce Lunsford

Mayor Bruce Lunsford faithfully served the Village of Mount Orab for more than 41 years. His leadership was instrumental in shaping not only our fire department, but our entire community. Bruce had an unwavering love for Mount Orab and led with a forward-thinking vision. Time and time again, he recognized challenges before they became problems and worked tirelessly to find solutions.

Many members of the Mount Orab Fire Department and our Firefighters Association are graduates of the Brown & Clermont Adult Career Campuses Postsecondary Firefighter Program, a program Bruce played a vital role in creating. His investment in firefighter education continues to benefit our department today.
Above all else, Bruce cherished his family. If you saw him outside of village business, you could almost always count on him being surrounded by those he loved most.

Thank you, Mayor Lunsford. We will never forget all you did for our department and our community. To those of our new members who never had the privilege of knowing you, thank you for laying the foundation that continues to make this department what it is today.

❤️ Shonda Wallace

Shonda Wallace was no stranger to the Mount Orab Fire Department. Before serving as the Village's Tax Administrator, she was an Administrative Assistant for our department and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Shonda never knew a stranger. She greeted everyone with a smile, genuinely asked how they were doing, and always made people feel welcome. Even during the most difficult times in her own life, she found ways to brighten someone else's day through her kindness, compassion, and generosity. She was the person people turned to when they needed a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on.

We are forever grateful for the time she dedicated to our department and the countless lives she touched. Thank you, friend.

Your dedication, kindness, and service continue to inspire us. We are grateful to have known and worked alongside both of you, and your legacy will forever remain a part of the Mount Orab Fire Department.
